I served in Smila, Cherkasy Oblast from 2003-2005. It brought a big smile to my face seeing you experience everything for the first time and thinking back to my own experiences there. Oh those long marshrutka rides..many tales to tell...someday that babushka will sit next to you and you'll be giving her the advice! I've already been back for a visit and can't wait to return. I wish you lots of luck and am looking forward in re-living it all through your great blog. Keep up the good work!! Lviv was my favorite city in Ukraine. Did you by any chance eat at the fancy traditional restaurant on Tchaikovskoho Street? Best food in Ukraine!
